Bhubaneswar International Master Anwesh Upadhyaya claimed the title in the Odisha State Blitz Chess Championship at Barabati Stadium here today. In the 10-round competition, featuring a total 86 players, Upadhyaya garnered nine points with nine points.
He won eight games and drew the rest two against IM Swayams Mishra and Rakesh Kumar Jena. Mishra and Jena finished second and third respectively with 8.5 points each.
